Below are suggested steps with increasing levels of commitment to research.
Preparation
Familiarize yourself with the forms. View all the tutorials on the training page. Try using the forms. Fill them out yourself. Ask friends and family to fill them out. Get familiar with how to quickly score them.
Decide which tools you are willing to use and if you are interested in contributing your results. The ORS/SRS project has been up and running for some time. The CORE and combined CORE+ ORS/SRS project is just beginning.
Step 1
While using ORS measures at beginning and end will really miss out on the clinical power of the ORS/SRS combination at every session it does however meet a minimum requirement to contribute to practice based research. We welcome all results. We encourage those already using ORS/SRS at every session to continue to do so and to submit your data to us.
Step 2
A much more robust database of evidence can be provided by the use of the 3 CORE forms; therapist assessment, outcome measure and end of therapy form, measuring at the beginning and the end of treatment. Use these in paper format and submit your data to us.
NOTE:
Therapists willing to commit to this level of data collection (step 2 or above) please e-mail Bill Andrews with "CORE Research" in the subject box. You will then receive a password to allow you access to the password protected area of this website where further on-line training is available.
Step 3
The next level of commitment to outcome informed practice and research is for those who are willing to use the CORE measures at beginning and end AND the ORS/SRS measures at every session with their clients.
Step 4
From amongst those willing to work at either steps 2 or 3 above we seek 30 volunteers for a time-limited trial to run for 6 months, using CORE Net, a yet to be released, online version of CORE. You need to be likely to submit results from at least 10 clients in the target period. We are aiming to commence this study in October 1, 2007, with training beginning in April.
NOTE:
If you are willing and interested to be a part of this group described above please make it known in your e-mail to Bill Andrews.
For those who are willing to participate in this study it will be necessary to obtain your client’s consent to anonymously submit their data in order to comply with the Data protection Act. We have prepared a client consent form here.
Please take the time to view the short tutorials on the training page (and the protected training page, should you decide on step 2 or above).
